Junior pupils from Lewes Old Grammar School (LOGS) got into the sporting spirit for their annual summer Sports Day last week.
Overlooked by P.E teacher Sam Rham, the morning saw reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children taking part. Events such as the egg-and-spoon race and the parents’ race set off the day with a fun-fuelled start.
The afternoon gave way to more races as pupils from Year 3 to 6 competed in a variety of sporting activities. These included javelin, long jump, sprint, middle distance and long distance.
The atmosphere of the day was one of community and cooperation with medals being awarded for participation, such as taking part in all of the races.
“The children really outdid themselves,” said Sam. “Not only in terms of the effort they put in, but also in their good spirited attitude which made the day a great success.”
