LEWES ‘YOUNG VOICES’ PERFORM AT O2
Students from Lewes Old Grammar School (LOGS) enjoyed a taste of the big time last month, when they took part in the ‘Young Voices’ concert at the O2 Arena in London.
Year 5 and 6 pupils from LOGS junior school (Morley House) followed in the footsteps of the likes of Elton John, Tina Turner and Beyoncé as they performed at the prestigious venue.
Joining their voices together with thousands of pupils from across the UK, the students had the unprecedented opportunity to form part of the largest children’s choir in the world, and also experienced the benefits of professional direction.
“The O2 was completely packed,” said Angela Spinks, Music Leader from Morley House. “The children sang with such enthusiasm and commitment. They were an absolute credit not only to themselves but also to the school. It was an once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I know they relished the performance more than they could ever have imagined.”
