One of the proudest moments in our 30-year history was seeing LGA founder and MD Susan Fleet receiving the honour of Bright FM Fundraiser of the Year in 2015.
It was awarded in recognition of the sterling work Susan has put into organising charitable events since 1970 – when she staged her first musical concert at the tender age of just 13 to get her own back on the church choir that wouldn’t let her in because she was a girl!
Since then, Susan, supported by the LGA team – most notably her husband, Graham – has arranged four musical events a year, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity and culminating in a never-to-be forgotten Night of 100 Voices, staged in Burgess Hill in 2015. Having assembled some of the finest voices in the business, including stars of screen and stage who donated their time and talent for free, the event raised in excess of £9,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
For the past 15 years, LGA has also offered pro-bono PR advice to local charities, including St Peter & St James Hospice, and advises the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity on publicity matters.
Susan is vice-Chairman of Coro Nuovo, a 50-voice choir which takes music to the community, and is an active member of Heber Opera, which stages productions in local village halls and community centres. She also leads Lea Graham Entertainment’s own fundraising music group, the Lea Graham Quartet, which performs several concerts throughout the year.
