Lewes Students dance the day away at LOGS
Students of all ages came together last week for the first ever ‘Lewes Big Dance’, which was hosted by Lewes Old Grammar School (LOGS).
Thirty-five children from six local primary schools took part in the inaugural event, which saw pupils put through their paces to learn street and contemporary dance before taking part in a creative dance workshop.
Organised in collaboration with Universal Dance, which is run by LOGS teacher Mrs Jessica Lloyd, the gala concluded with children performing a four-minute dance routine at LOGS’s Annual Dance Gala in Lewes Town Hall.
The Big Dance event, which is set to take place again next year, brought together students from Barcombe, Hamsey, Iford & Kingston, St. Pancras, Wallands primary schools with LOGS’s Morley House.
GCSE and A-Level students from LOGS also lent a helping hand as they danced the day away with their younger counterparts by assisting with any of the trickier moves.
Jessica said: “We all had a great day and the students truly outdid themselves! Special thanks to all the schools who took part in the day, as well as to the older pupils for serving as excellent role models. I can’t wait to see what the children come up with for next year’s event!”
