‘Choir, Cabaret and Cakes’ to brighten the New Year

Sussex locals can beat the winter blues next month at local choir Coro Nuovo’s latest concert.

The ‘Choir, Cabaret & Cakes’ event will feature a diverse programme of musical performances and recitals, with an interval for afternoon tea provided by Haywards Heath caterer, Indigo Events.

The first half of the afternoon will showcase the versatility of Coro Nuovo choir members, many of whom are singing professionals in their own right, before the new Coro Nuovo Youth Choir kick-off the second half of the concert.

Vicki Lee, who performs Dame Vera Lynn songs in concert across New Zealand, will close out the event with a special cabaret finale, which will include audience participation.

The entertainment will raise funds for the Coro Nuovo Young Musicians’ Bursary, a grant established three years ago to support young people who aspire to become professional musicians.

Profits from the concert’s raffle, meanwhile, will go the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.

Kate Kent, founder and chair of Coro Nuovo, said: “Food and music mix wonderfully, and this concert offers a fantastic chance to enjoy a sumptuous afternoon tea in a lovely venue while hearing some outstanding performers showcase their talents. We can’t wait to see the show our members will put on.”

‘Choir, Cabaret & Cakes’ concert takes place at Wivelsfield Village Hall on Sunday 4 February. Tickets cost £12 and are available online at: https://coronuovo.org.uk/tickets/
