Local Will Writer Sheds Stones Thanks to His Furry Friend
Worthing-based will writer Paul Blackmoore is on a mission to lose weight for charity, with a little help from his furry friend, Frankie.
Paul, who runs Thy Will Be Done in Goring, near Worthing, recently decided to shed five stones as part of a fundraising challenge, with proceeds going to the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity (DVLCC) in Cuckfield.
But he isn’t alone on his weight loss journey, after adopting six-year-old, one-eyed dog, Frankie, from a previous owner last December.
“I instantly fell in love with him,” says Paul, “I read about him on the internet and immediately knew he was one of a kind. It’s so much easier to motivate myself and lose weight when I have a little friend who needs to go out for walks every day.”
In fact, the Hungarian Blue shark-line French Bulldog takes regular trips with Paul around Worthing, and even follows him to the office. “He loves to greet our clients, and especially enjoys sitting in the window to admire the passersby. He particularly loves it when children come in to play.”
So far, Paul is well on track to meet his target and has already shed more than two stones this year. “It really helps doing it for such a worthy cause,” Paul adds. “I was introduced to the Charity through some friends. Their work with young children with cerebral palsy and associated conditions is so important and inspiring. I’m delighted to be able to help them while helping my own health at the same time.”
