Making Menopause a Positive Experience
Marie Hunter will be delivering an informative workshop entitled ‘Taking Control of your Menopause’ at the Poppy and Pint in Nottingham on Saturday 2 March.
As an Associate Menopause Ambassador and Coach for Simply Hormones, Marie is passionate about informing and empowering women to take control of their hormones to enable them to continue to contribute fully to organisational, personal and career goals.
Simply Hormones is a pioneering women’s advice and support service founded by Kathryn Colas, who has become a sought-after media commentator and public speaker. Kathryn is recognised for her work with NGOs, public and private sector organisations in improving understanding of menopausal symptoms; equipping women with better information while influencing policy and practices in the workplace. Kathryn became the first and only lay person to be appointed to the medical advisory committee of the British Menopause Society.
‘Taking Control of your Menopause’ is aimed at women aged 35 – 55, some of whom may not even be sure if they are going through the menopause. Marie will help them to learn how to recognise the symptoms of menopause as well as providing strategies and tips that will enable them to look after themselves through menopause via diet, skin, exercise and positive thought.
It’s a real opportunity for women to find out more about the menopause, share stories, get answers and find out how to get their lives back on track to feel positive again.
In her professional life, Marie has more than 20 years experience of designing and delivering training, on a variety of leadership, management and HR topics. She is an Approved Training Provider for the Institute of Leadership and Management and a qualified Career Counsellor. Marie has worked within and alongside HR teams, and has participated in many initiatives that have delivered positive outcomes in private and public organisations.
As well as being an Ambassador for Simply Hormones, Marie is a Weleda Advisor. This innovative company has been growing and creating 100% natural, organic, herbal medicine and body care products for over 95 years. Marie will be advising on specific Weleda products that are helpful for menopause and products will be available to purchase at the event.
Taking Control of your Menopause is on Saturday 2 March, 10am-12pm at Poppy and Pint, Pierrepont Road, Nottingham, NG2 5DE. Tickets £20 (early bird price £15 if booked by 25th February). Places can be reserved by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Attendees will receive a goody bag of sample products, £5 off Weleda products purchased on the day and useful information to take away.

Comments from previous attendees at workshops delivered by Marie:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop last weekend; I found it very informative & educational. I certainly wish that I’d had access to this when I first starting going through the menopause as like most people I just stumbled through it trying to cope as best I could looking for answers & ways to help the symptoms, not even sure sometimes if it was a symptom or just my body falling to bits!
It explained to me why a great many of the symptoms I hadn’t considered connected to it after hearing the list of things the presence of Oestrogen actually does do in our bodies. It’s no wonder we feel so bad when it decreases.
I think it’s a really positive thing for woman to talk about what used to be a taboo subject from my mother’s generation. It really helps to share remedies, insights, coping mechanisms & natural remedies to ease our way through it & make you realise you’re not suffering on your own. I would heartily recommend & already have done to friends how worthwhile the workshop is. A must do thing for woman in their 30’s upwards.”
