Employers increasingly ‘loud and proud’ about menopause

Are you ‘Bready for Menopause’?
Simply Hormones is mixing together a recipe for success with an innovative new workshop held at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy.
‘Bready for Menopause’ will offer women the chance to knead their menopause-related issues into submission while they bake fresh loaves of bread with bakery expert, Anna Haynes.
Simply Hormones CEO, Kathryn Colas, said she came up with the idea after meeting Anna, who runs Brighton-based bakery school Anna’s Kitchen.
“Baking bread and talking about menopause might seem incongruous,” said Kathryn. “But we’ve designed the event as a form of therapy. Just as you can form a coherent loaf out of sticky, unwieldy dough, you can tame the terrible symptoms of menopause to get your life back on track.”
The first event of its kind, the workshop will teach attendees coping techniques, and also include a question-and-answer session with experts. Guests will leave with a menopause action plan, as well as their own loaf of fresh bread and specially crafted recipes to try at home.
Anna added: “Bread-making can be so therapeutic; the measuring and kneading are reassuring in their simplicity and repetition, and can bring about a state of mindfulness with the added benefit of a loaf at the end! We really hope this event helps people to relax, reflect and go away with vital information to improve their lives and their diets.”
‘Bready for Menopause’ takes place on Saturday 7 October from 10.00 to 13.30. Tickets are available from: http://www.supersaas.com/schedule/Anna’s_Kitchen/BACA. Lunch and refreshments are also included. Simply Hormones is also offering two free tickets in a competition – to find out more visit their Facebook page.
