Lewes Old Grammar School co-ed hockey team

Series of sporting successes for LOGS students

Lewes Old Grammar School (LOGS) pupils have achieved a series of successes in the Independent Schools Association (ISA) sporting events and beyond.

The Year 6 pupil Rosie Kornevall made the school proud when she excelled in the athletic competitions. This included a silver medal in the 600m race and a gold for her skills in the 150m.

Rosie wasn’t the only LOGS student to succeed in the ISA events. The hockey team also made great leaps, putting their way to the semi-finals in this year’s national hockey cup.

These were part of the thirty varied national events ISA Sport offered this academic year. Alongside art events, these competitions are hosted annually for the pupils of the 474 UK’s best independent schools the registered charity represents.

LOGS sporting successes continued beyond the ISA as the co-ed hockey team achieved many victories. Lead by their captain Finn Rham, the team consisted of Rowan Bell, Joe Powell, Daisy Rogers, Rosie Kornevall and Theo Summers as goal keeper. With an initial win of the South-Downs Area Hockey Tournament, they then went on to further win the South Area National Games Tournament.

With these first-class results, we can expect to be seeing more great things from the pupils at the 505-year old school.
