OLYMPIAN Craig Figes, who led the London 2012 GB water polo team, splashed down at Lewes Old Grammar School to give students the inside track on his sporting life.
Craig, who first learned to swim at four years old and became interested in water polo at seven, visited the school as part of his work as a Sky Sports Living Ambassador.
His audience was selected from students who had shown outstanding determination to succeed in PE and games.
After quizzing Craig on a career that saw him take bronze at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and captain Team GB, the pupils teamed up to complete tasks that helped them understand what it takes to realise your full potential.
PE teacher Robyn Stone, said: “The day was designed as a little thank you to students for showing outstanding determination and willingness to success in school sport at LOGS. They were engrossed in Craig’s speech and you could see them being inspired by his story. They said it was a great honour to work with someone so committed to their sport, who has an understanding of what dedication really means.”
